Program Identity: Deaf-Centered Practice Overview Presentation

Use this presentation to build a shared understanding of program identity, meaning a school's Deaf-centered character. It describes five parts of exemplary practice: Deaf adults visible as role models and leaders; Deaf culture and history woven into shared spaces; ASL used and respected everywhere, not just in classrooms; ongoing partnerships with the Deaf community; and real leadership and advocacy roles for students. Each part contrasts active, everyday practice with symbolic gestures. Use it to build common language across a program, not to evaluate individuals.
