Classroom Library Reflection Checklist (Grades 1-5)

Use this checklist to review and strengthen a Grades 1-5 classroom library for deaf and hard of hearing learners. It prompts you to include books that show deaf and hard of hearing characters as whole, capable people, stories by Deaf authors, and materials that reflect many identities and experiences. It also asks whether ASL supports like signed stories and videos are available, whether reading levels and genres vary, and whether the library is used during instruction rather than only displayed. Use it to find gaps and plan what to add next.
